Land Preparation & Clearing

Removing Invasive Vegetation

Before planting, sites must be prepared to remove invasive, non-native vegetation that prevents natural forest regeneration.

Methods include hand work with string trimmers and shredder blades, forestry mulch equipment on flatter terrain, and manual removal of bramble root systems.

Why Clearing Matters

Invasive plants like ivy and thorny bushes grow up to ten times faster than young oaks, smothering natural regeneration.

The shredded material remains on the ground for weed suppression and soil moisture retention, creating a natural mulch layer that benefits future tree growth.
